Introducing the March Lively Lady: Selena Recker!
Meet Selena!
Selena grew up in Ignacio. Growing up, she always wanted to go to Durango, the BIG town. After high school, Selena went to fashion school on the West coast. She returned to Colorado after a few years in the fast lane in LA, and attended Fort Lewis College. Selena was still in need of the city life, so she spent a decade in Denver. When she was pregnant with her firstborn, they decided to move back to Durango and raise their children here! Selena loves being part of this community, and hopes that she has added her own little sparkle to Durango! She is a divorcee and a single momma to Holland and Henley, her awesome daughters! Selena counts her blessings that she is raising them here, in Durango, in this awesome community, and that she can make it work to build her career around their schedules!
Selena wanted a flexible schedule, and she had to build it out of three different jobs. So Durango! Selena is a seamstress. Yes! The one that can help all the lively gals with any necessary alterations! Sew Selena - that's her! She loves fashion and is honored to alter her client's clothing. She also runs an office for CMS Construction. She keeps her contractor organized so he can keep making their clients remodel dreams come true! Her last gig is the "fabric inventory clerk" at Stitch quilt shop. What she means - Selena opens every box of fabric that comes through! Fabric is her favorite F word! Which leads her to hobbies....anything to do with fabric. Indoors, Selena enjoys getting her nails done, puzzles, baking, and podcasts. She loves the outdoors too: paddleboarding, hiking or walking the river trail (or Main, while she shops), getting together with her friends, and skiing or snowshoeing. Finally, Selena is a Girl Scout troop leader! Shout out to her amazing girls who are selling out of cookies as we speak! She feels a sense of pride leading these girls through badge exercises, life skills, cookie season entrepreneurship and the FUN stuff like camping, hot springs, and glass art! They are our future, she is stoked to help guide them with Girl Power at the front of mind! Selena seems to own a variety of lively brands. Her faves include: FRNCH, Sadie & Sage, Saltwater Luxe, Dear John and KUT From the Kloth. Selena loves shopping at lively because, “Community! These are my people, my girlfriends, my fashionistas! We support each other in this community! I want my hard earned dollars to go to people I care about and businesses that I want to succeed! Lively is part of what makes Durango such a special place to live!”.
