Saddle Up in Style: Western Chic for Fall

Introducing the September Lively Lady: Jaime Marquez!

Meet Jaime!

Jaime has been skiing at Purgatory since the 1980s and her family vacationed in Durango for decades. Then, Jaime and her husband, Luis, continued that tradition visiting Durango with their own family and enjoying the beautiful outdoors through camping, fishing and hiking. It became clear that this was their "happy place" and the place where they wanted to raise their own family. So, they "escaped" from Scottsdale in 2007 with their boys to call Durango home. Jaime married her high school sweetheart, Luis, in 1997! They are blessed with 3 amazing young men — Michael (23), Branden (20), and Carson (16), and their yellow lab Tiger Lily (9). Well, Jaime gets to sit next to her husband and help clients with their real estate needs every single day. How lucky is she? She loves to cook for her people, spend time with her boys, go to the beach, host dance parties and play in the forest!

Jaime loves lively’s amazing jewelry selection and it’s a go-to for her when it comes to gift giving. She also loves the trucker hats and has quite a few from our collection with Arnie & Ollie. Jaime’s most recent lively purchases include a summer sundress from Saltwater Luxe for her upcoming beach vacation, KUT From the Kloth jeans (SO soft and comfortable), and some rowdy leopard print PISTOLA cargo pants! Jaime said she loves shopping at lively because, “Whether I'm looking for a gift, a hug from friends, cute travel attire or my new favorite sweater...they have it!”.

When fall rolls in, it brings more than just cooler air and changing leaves — it’s the perfect season to embrace rich textures, denim staples, and a little Western flair. Western chic isn’t about going full cowboy; it’s about weaving in rustic charm with modern sophistication. Think embroidery, wide-brim hats, denim, and suede — all updated with fresh cuts and details. Let’s dive into three lively looks that capture the heart of Western chic this season.

Western chic is all about statement pieces with a story, and this denim dress nails it. The chambray wash gives it a relaxed , lived-in feel, while the bold red embroidery adds a striking pop of color reminiscent of rodeo culture and hand-stitched artistry. With a flattering straight silhouette, it’s effortlessly wearable — perfect for a day of shopping downtown or heading to brunch. Paired with neutral, stitched sandal, this outfit is a lighter take on Western styling, ideal for transitioning between warm afternoons and crisp fall evenings.

Nothing says Western chic quite like a wide-leg denim paired with a cozy, eye-catching sweater. This look balances laid-back ranch vibes with a fashion-forward edge. The jeans elongate the leg while staying true to Western denim roots, and the bomber-style jacket — woven with bold patterns in navy and rust — brings warmth and character. Add a wide-brim hat, and the outfit instantly channels that polished cowgirl energy. Whether you’re strolling down Main or heading out for live music, this look proves Western chic can be both practical and elevated.

Western chic doesn’t always have to mean boots and fringe, it can be subtle too. A simple graphic tee paired with soft-wash jeans is the perfect nod to casual cowboy style. This outfit embraces everyday comfort while staying on-trend. Accessories make all the difference here: the staple gold hoops and crossbody bag add a modern touch, while the thick beaded necklace and relaxed fit of the denim leans into that effortless Western spirit. It’s a reminder that chic doesn’t always need embellishment; sometimes the best Western influence is understated confidence.
