Lively Fundraiser Fashion Show Highlights
Introducing the October Lively Ladies: Holly Heck & Sheila Rosado!
We figured what better way to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by featuring both of these awesome ladies! If you’ve been in the Mammography Department at Mercy Hospital, you might recognize Holly and Sheila as they share the lead role in their department. We can’t wait for you all to read just how inspiring these women are!
After coming to Durango on vacation, Holly always dreamt of moving here. In 2006, Holly finally fulfilled that teenage dream after moving to the beautiful Durango from Louisiana. Holly has been married to her best friend, Wendell, for 31 years! Together they share 3 sons, 3 amazing daughter-in-laws, and 3 beautiful grandchildren.
Holly graduated from Radiology school in 1994 and was fortunate enough to start her career in Mammography shortly after! Holly’s passion is making sure that every woman has the best experience while receiving the best exam possible for early detection of cancer. In her free time, Holly loves to hike, fish, garden, and crochet.
Holly loves ALL of the brands at Lively, but if she had to pick her favorite it would be Z SUPPLY. She loves Z SUPPLY for it’s casual comfort that is great for everyday wear! Holly likes shopping at Lively for our variety of options and the uniqueness of our clothing. Holly says that Lively is a great local shop with everything you need to look and feel great no matter the event!

Sheila is a four corners local! When she graduated high school, Sheila enlisted with the Army and moved away. Sheila wasn’t really sure what she wanted to do when she grew up, but she knew she wanted to experience the city life. After meeting her husband, he received a job offer that brought them to Durango in 1993. Sheila and her husband worked at Bula together until it closed in 2000. Sheila and her husband share 6 children together, 5 sons and 1 daughter. Needless to say, they are busy! Sheila says that Durango was the perfect place to raise their young family. Three of her children are still local!
Sheila has worked at Mercy Hospital for 23 years! She is one of the few old timers left. Holly and her share the lead role in the Mammography Department at Mercy. Sheila loves her job as it is beyond rewarding. She is very passionate when it comes to women’s health and educate women on how important a mammogram is for their health. Before starting her career in Mammography, Sheila was a custom seamstress. She still has her 5 industrial sewing machines in her “She Shed”. In Sheila’s free time, she obviously loves to sew and garden.
Sheila’s favorite brand at Lively is Z SUPPLY as well! She loves their tops, as you can dress them up or down depending on the event. Sheila loves a number of our jeans, but AG is her favorite because their styles are long enough for her height. Sheila can still wear heels with her jeans which is often not a choice for her. Sheila also loves LA Chic Designs for their amazing embroidered clutches! If you want to have a great experience at Lively, Sheila says just let a stylist help put together an outfit for you and they will make you feel amazing!

Another year, another AMAZING fashion show! We want to thank all of our fellow Lively lovers for supporting this event year after year. Our fashion show wouldn’t be nearly as fun without our supporters! A huge thank you to our amazing partners, iAM Music, for helping this show go off without a hitch! Every year our fashion show proceeds go to iAM Music so they can continue inspiring young musicians to pursue their dreams.
Another huge thank you to all six of our models who kill it every single year, to Christopher Beaver for driving all the way from Telluride to showcase all of his one-of-a-kind pieces, to Nichole with Magnolia Pearl for donating our live auction piece, to our Vespa donator, to Ray who flew in from Phoenix who killed hosting our show, to our awesome volunteers every year who help us make this night unforgettable, to Nu Bass Theory for rocking our all night long, and to our sponsors McDonalds, PJ’s Gourmet Market, & Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
